Page Mill Winery International Education Fund
What is it? The Page Mill Winery International Education
Fund is a scholarship fund created by winemaker Dane Stark. Monies
come from various events held throughout the year by Page Mill Winery
and donations from friends of the winery. Grants are made to students
on a bi-annual basis in the sum of up to $1,000 paid towards tuition.
What is it for? The Fund was established to encourage cross
cultural experience through study abroad.
When is it? Applications will be accepted from January 1
through March 30 each year for May 30th disbursement. Applications
will be accepted from July 1 through September 30 for December 31
disbursement.
Who is elligible? Anyone who is studying outside their country
of birth for the first time at an acknowledged institution.
How does one apply? Applications are emailed to the applicant
or can be downloaded here.
It is filled out and returned either by mail to Page Mill Winery
International Education Fund PO Box 2659 Livermore, CA 94551 or
sent to "StudyAbroad" followed by "@PageMillWinery.com".
The application should include an essay (maximum 300 words) describing
why the applicant should receive a tuition grant from the Page Mill
Winery International Education Fund.For an application send an email
to "StudyAbroad" followed by "@PageMillWinery.com"
and request one.
Fine Print: This is not an attempt to cover a given
amount of tuition but to subsidize the cost of tuition. The amount
of tuition paid can be applied to one term of study abroad up to a
maximum of $1,000. Monies will be paid to the institution of study
in the name of the student. Student must be 18 years of age or have
written consent from a legal guardian to study abroad in order to
apply for grant. All awards are made solely by Dane Stark and reflect
subjective assesment of the reasons for studying abroad. All decisions
are final.
