2002
Cabernet Sauvignon
Luchessi Vineyard
- The Vineyard The Luchessi Vineyard
is in the Santa Cruz Mountains above the town of Cupertino. It
is a 5 acre vineyard, head pruned the old fashioned way. It is
dry farmed (no irrigation). Click
here for a "Google Earth" view.
- The Style Cabernet Sauvignon, contrary
to current belief, doesn't have to take your teeth off to be an
enjoyable wine. Nor does it have to feel like you're chewing on
a box of oak tooth picks.... Our Cabernet is built from finesse,
with an eye towards complexity... call it what you will, but I'd
trade in complex, beautiful aged Cab over old toothpicks any day....
- Tasting Notes On Our Cabernet Sauvignon
Vintage 2002
This Cabernet is rich in fruit and dry to the palate. It has
a lingering finish and round, smooth tannins with mashed up strawberries
and cranberries as it fades. The fruit is balanced and ripe, with
hints of redwood and cedar on the nose. Its mid-palate has medium
acid and bright fruit.
