Winemaker’s Notes:
“This Syrah comes from the vineyard immediately adjacent to the Winery property.
It is an organically farmed, ½ acre vineyard with an average vine age of 16 years. It has copious fruit and dense character stemming from the perfect drainage and aggressive pruning strategy. It is kept under 3 tons to the acre providing a dense structure and intense flavor profile.
Gail Shearer is growing great Syrah in the valley and the quality of this vineyard should continue to improve as the vines reach full maturity and the site gains its full potential.”

Tasting notes:
Dark ruby in color with uniform clarity.
This wine opens with prunes, lilac, smoke and cedar and heavy, ripe fruit. The medium intensity entry leads to a heady mid palate and noticeable tannins around the back and sides of the palate with lush floral components leading to a long finish. Hints of jam and leather linger on the palate with dense fruit.
This wine will age beautifully and reward those with patience with a further developing of the fruit, depth and balance.
