Winemaker’s Notes:
“The Spenker Vineyard is south of Sacramento in the Lodi appellation. The vineyard is head pruned, as it has been for three generations. It is dry farmed according to the Lodi Rules, one of California’s most stringent set of regulations regarding farming ethically. Chuck and Betty-Ann are in the vineyard at harvest and cull the fruit that goes into my picking bin, tossing bunches of grapes that look less than perfect to the ground.”

Tasting Notes:
From the shallow water table and delta breezes, comes this gem of a Zinfandel. This vintage is medium ruby red with weighty clarity and a pretty bouquet of spicy, traditional Zin. The mouthfeel is medium in weight with jammy brilliance and a supple mid palate and a long and spicy finish.
Oak plays a medium roll in this wine which saw entirely American barrels with a percentage of the aging time being in new barrels.
