“The grapes for this wine come from a Cab vineyard in the north west side of the valley.
The Livermore Valley will produce stunning Cabs, and this vintage is no exception. The vineyard sits atop a hill overlooking the 680 corridor and the ridge line that separates the San Francisco Bay from the Livermore Valley is in sight.
While the Livermore appellation can be on the warm side, this vineyard benefits particularly from this proximity to the bay influence.
With the grace of this wine ageability is assured.”

The barrel aging regime adds cedar and oak notes atop a robe of floral aromas. It is aged for an extended period, 30 months, in order to soften and “ripen” the tannins. It has opening notes sage, spices, currants and roses.
It has a lovely, redwood color, brilliant along the edges.
The palate entry is of floral components with ripe fruit in the California, oak driven style and a generous yet structured mid palate. The silky tannins provide a generosity of mouthfeel leaving the palate robed in the wine’s essence. Fruit is gentle and subdued, with floral notes along the way and the under current of oak.
The finish is lingering and includes oak, vanilla and spice.
