Winemaker’s Notes:
“This Syrah comes from the famed Santa Cruz Mountains just behind Saratoga at 800 feet in elevation.
It is a small, backyard vineyard belonging to the Littlehales. They have chosen an ideal location for Syrah and this vineyard produces wines of elegant character and a unique mouthfeel. Among the Syrahs we produce, this wine has a particular silkiness on the palate that I do not find elsewhere.”

Tasting notes:
Dark ruby in color with a beautiful darkness towards the center.
This wine opens with light smoke and hints of meatiness, crushed berries and heavy, ripe fruit leaning floral components with rose overtones. The medium intensity entry gives way to a vibrant mid palate and lean fruit with cranberry and oak components. The oak tannins bolster its presence in the mouth creating structure. Hints of jam and leather linger on the palate with dense fruit. It has a bright and clean component that grows in intensity through the palate, leading to a refreshing finish.
This wine will age beautifully.
